CONTRACT/BENEFIT INFO

CONTRACT TIPS

Hopefully, the following information in our BellSouth contract will clear up any misunderstandings.

¨ If you have been tested for a job, most of your tests are good for seven years now instead of five years.

¨ If you are trying to get a job in Network and the “Physical Stress Test” is required, you MUST be pre-tested, even if you were surplused  from one of those jobs and a year has passed.  Each year you must be tested again in order to even be considered for a job.

¨ When requesting SIPP, you may lock/unlock electronically from the first day of the month to the last day of the month, before midnight Eastern time, preceding the surplus quarter.  AFTER THIS TIME PERIOD THE SIPP ACCEPTANCE MAY NOT BE REVOKED!  SIPP acceptances are valid for one quarter only.  Employees must lock in during the specified time period.

¨ If you return to work from benefits and become sick again before you have been back at work for at least FOURTEEN (14) days, it will be considered a relapse even if it is an entirely different illness.  You must be back at work at least thirteen weeks before a new benefit period begins.

If you have any questions about the above information, please give us a call at the Local Hall, (615) 256-2345.
